Not all storm damage is dramatic. Sure, sometimes hail blasts holes in vinyl or rips gutters clean off. But other times, it’s more subtle—cracks, chips, loosened panels, or small dents that don’t look like much… until moisture creeps in and starts rotting what’s underneath.
We’ve seen it all. And if your siding, fascia, or gutters took a hit, here’s how to spot the signs, what your insurance needs to see, and why a good paint job can’t cover bad damage.
Start with the Big Picture
After a storm, walk around your house and look for:
- Dents in soft metal, like gutters and downspouts
- Cracks or holes in vinyl or fiber cement siding
- Loosened fascia or soffit panels
- Peeling paint, especially near corners and seams
- Water trails or dirt streaks near damaged areas
If you see any of these signs, there’s a good chance more damage is hiding underneath.
Hail Doesn’t Just Hurt the Roof
Hail hits hard—especially in Northeast Colorado. And while most people look up at the roof, it often batters siding and gutters too. Small chips in paint can lead to water intrusion. Loosened fascia can open the door to pests. And damaged gutters? They don’t just leak—they dump water where it shouldn’t go.
We check the whole exterior, not just the top of the house.
Insurance Coverage: What Gets Missed
When adjusters walk the property, they usually start at the roof. Siding and gutters often get skipped—especially if the damage isn’t obvious.
We walk them through it. We point out impact marks, measure hail size, and show how even “cosmetic” damage can lead to future problems. If it’s covered, we make sure it’s on the scope.
Paint: The Final Touch, Not the Fix
A good paint job can bring your home back to life—but it can’t fix structural damage or cover over compromised materials. We’ll never just “paint and pray.” We repair what’s underneath first, then finish the job the right way, with color that lasts.
